According to fpweb.net, a Company providing managed hosting services for SharePoint, Exchange, CRM and Project Server, the President of the United States is a big fan of SharePoint. The President first showed up as a customer of fpweb.net during his nomination for the Democratic Party and his campaign subsequently began using the portal site to help coordinate their nationwide campaign teams. The McCain camp has also used SharePoint and the services of fpweb.net.
SharePoint, a mandated platform, is a big piece of the nation’s government with local, state and federal agencies using it extensively since 2002. [1,2]
Hopefully in the next election cycle, all sides of the political spectrum will be using Dosensio Zoom with SharePoint to maximize their productivity and facilitate information flow.
The micro-blogging site Twitter has recently drawn significant attention as a new form of customer interaction that helps companies receive feedback about their products and services. Monitoring micro-blogging activities provides instant feedback on product and service performance. Responding quickly and directly to the customer helps manufacturers and resellers build strong customer relationships. The NY Times has dedicated an article to this topic.

This week Dosensio got a chance to attend a meeting held by the SharePoint Business Strategies User Group of Chicago.
The meeting was organized by Ross Freedman of RightPoint Consulting. Directions Training, who co-sponsored it, also provided free food and drinks; something always much appreciated by overworked entrepreneurs. It was hosted by Microsoft at their offices in the Aon Center.
Dan Vandercar from Microsoft introduced the audience to the Microsoft PerformancePoint Server, which is now part of the enterprise version of the Microsoft SharePoint Server. He demonstrated how business data (such as sales figures) can be extracted from different sources, analyzed and turned into compelling financial presentations. Live graphs and tables can be hosted on SharePoint sites so everyone with just a web browser has access to the data.
